Frequently asked questions
01What can I try for free?
The first six lessons, introductory games, and pocket rulebook are free. The four-chapter course has 24 lessons. Foundation unlocks the remaining lessons and advanced practice tools listed on the in-app purchase page.
02Is Foundation a subscription?
No. It is one non-consumable purchase. Apple shows the final price in your storefront’s currency before confirmation. It buys the listed content and tools, not a guaranteed skill result or game victory.
03How do I restore Foundation or request a refund?
Use Restore purchases in Settings with the same Apple Account that purchased Foundation and an App Store connection. Pending transactions unlock after approval; revoked or refunded access is checked through StoreKit. For billing or refunds, use Apple purchase support or reportaproblem.apple.com. If restoration fails, email the error without payment credentials.
04Can I use the app without internet?
Lessons and practice games run offline against computer opponents; there is no online matchmaking or chat. Loading prices, purchasing, and restoring Foundation need access to Apple services. Your learning history stays on this device, not a developer cloud account.
05Why does a finished practice set still say Practicing?
Set completion records what you finished; mastery uses independent first answers across different question families and sessions. Hints, repeated practice, and XP are not equivalent to independent evidence. Expand How does skill mastery change? on the Practice page to see the conditions and suggested next exercise.
06What happens when I reset progress or reinstall?
Reset learning progress removes saved lesson, practice, and table records, but does not cancel a verified Foundation purchase. Removing the app can delete local history. Restore purchases recovers access, not deleted progress. Apple backups and reports you saved elsewhere are separate.
07How do I share a learning report?
In Settings choose Prepare learning report, then Share report and a destination. This exports a local JSON report containing progress and practice information, not just an image. Inspect it before sharing. Support does not require you to send a report.
08Which devices, languages, and rules are supported?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later. Current app resources include English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, and Korean. Dutch is not implemented. App language follows iOS language settings. The app teaches its stated classic three-player Shifu rules; regional house rules may differ.
09How can I adjust the experience?
Settings offers answer/play sounds, vibration feedback, and faster computer turns. The app includes card accessibility labels, larger-text layouts, and reduced-motion handling. Learn at your own pace, use the rulebook or hints, and pause rather than treating a practice score as a promise of mastery.
